Singer-composer Jaanvee Prabhu Arora has lent her soulful voice and creative energy to the spiritual podcast The Vedas Speak, composing and performing its evocative title track Om Krishnaay Vasudevaay. Known for her deep affinity with devotional music, Jaanvee has previously worked on compositions like Sai Bhajan, Gayatri Mantra, Mahamrityunjay Jaap, and the Hanuman Chalisa.

Jaanvee shared that this project holds personal significance as the podcast’s creator, Dr. Sammeer Arora, is her husband. “His spiritual journey has been an integral part of my life. So, when Paparazzi Entertainment approached me, I was emotionally and spiritually ready. The shlok I used for the title is something I’ve been chanting since childhood—it was like receiving a divine blessing to compose and sing it,” she said.

The composition, rooted in Raag Yaman Kalyan, aims to capture the depth and energy of ancient wisdom. Jaanvee explained her process: “Among the four Vedas, Saamveda is considered the Veda of music. It was important to channel that essence. I chose a raga that could express the show’s spiritual and musical soul. I let the melody flow naturally.”

Fusing traditional and contemporary elements, Jaanvee chose to integrate classical flute strains—symbolic of Lord Krishna—with Western rhythm patterns. “Despite the fusion, I ensured the track maintained its purity and sanctity. My vocals are deliberately simple, heartfelt, and steeped in surrender to Krishna,” she added.

For Jaanvee, spiritual music is profoundly different from her other works in Marathi cinema and TV, where storytelling and character arcs guide performance. “In devotional music, you don’t follow a character—you follow the divine. It requires surrender. This track wasn’t just a performance; it was a spiritual experience,” she reflected.

Having sung in Marathi films for nearly two decades, Jaanvee has received accolades including the Maharashtra State Award, Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Mirchi Music Award, and Zee Marathi Award. Yet, she describes The Vedas Speak as a particularly humbling experience.

“The podcast is designed to bring ancient Vedic wisdom into the modern world. If embraced, these teachings can truly transform society. This title track is my offering to that larger mission,” she concluded.
