'I Didn't Know Why My House Was Targeted': Gippy Grewal Recalls Shocking Shooting Incident

The shots were fired at the Vancouver residence of Punjabi singer and actor, Gippy Grewal, in 2023. The singer has spoken about the matter recently, saying he was stunned by the event and had received no threatening phone calls prior to the shooting. He claims he had absolutely no clue whatsoever that his house would be targeted.

Gippy Grewal discussed the incident while appearing on Shekhar Suman's chat show, 'Shekhar Tonight'. He said, "When the firing took place outside my house, to be honest, I didn't even know why it happened. I hadn't received any calls. No one had threatened me either."

Later, a post surfaced explaining the motive behind the act. Following the incident, a Facebook post appeared in which gangster Lawrence Bishnoi claimed responsibility via social media. The post described the attack as a warning against Gippy's alleged association with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. It also contained a warning for others.

During the conversation, Gippy clarified that he does not share a close personal relationship with Salman Khan. He stated, "The fact is, I had only met Salman Sir a few times-once when promoting films on 'Bigg Boss' and another time during a trailer launch. We didn't have a close friendship either. But they misunderstood the situation, and that is why the incident occurred."
