Thomson Andrews Releases Solo Single ‘O Haseen’, a Romantic Monsoon Track
Singer and vocal arranger known for work with A.R. Rahman and Pritam steps into the spotlight with his own composition about love and longing.
MUMBAI: Singer, composer and vocal arranger Thomson Andrews has released his solo single “O Haseen,” a romantic track timed for the monsoon season. The song, which celebrates love, memory and emotional intimacy, became available worldwide on August 10 across major streaming platforms.
Andrews has spent more than two decades contributing to major Bollywood projects. He has worked with composers A.R. Rahman and Pritam, and most recently served as vocal arranger and singer on the Shahid Kapoor-led film “Cocktail 2.” He is also lined up to collaborate again with Pritam on the upcoming Akshay Kumar film “Haiwan.” With “O Haseen,” he shifts focus to original material released under his own artistic direction.
The track is composed and sung by Andrews, with lyrics by Nagesh Prasad and music programming and production by ADROIT (Royal Sen). It appears on the THROAN OF ART MUSIC label. The lyrical audio version places emphasis on the words and Andrews’ vocal performance against a contemporary cinematic arrangement.
Speaking about the song, Andrews said: “ ‘O Haseen’ is a very special song for me because it celebrates the kind of love that stays with you long after the moment has passed. It’s about the magic of remembering someone special, falling in love all over again and discovering new layers of yourself through that connection. I wanted the song to evoke those beautiful, personal emotions that make you think of your own special someone, while also celebrating the joy of loving and finding a deeper connection with yourself. There’s something incredibly romantic about the monsoon, and I felt it was the perfect season to bring a song filled with love, warmth, nostalgia and longing to listeners.”

From Studio Collaborator to Solo Artist
Andrews’ career has largely been defined by behind-the-scenes and featured vocal work on high-profile film soundtracks. His association with established composers has given him extensive experience in arranging and delivering performances tailored to cinematic narratives. “O Haseen” marks a deliberate step toward building an independent catalogue.
The monsoon release timing aligns with a long-standing Bollywood tradition of pairing romantic themes with the rainy season. The song’s focus on recollection and quiet emotional intensity positions it as a personal rather than purely celebratory love track. Listeners can stream it on Spotify and other major platforms.
Industry observers note that vocal arrangers and session singers increasingly release original material to expand their public profiles. Andrews’ existing credits on projects involving Rahman, Pritam, Shahid Kapoor and the forthcoming Akshay Kumar film provide a ready audience familiar with his voice, even if many may not have associated the name with a solo release until now.
Looking Ahead
“O Haseen” is presented as the start of a new phase for Andrews. With the single now available globally, the immediate next step is audience response and any subsequent promotional activity. No further singles or album plans have been announced in connection with this release.
The track remains available on streaming services, including the Spotify. Andrews continues his parallel work in film music, including the upcoming Pritam collaboration on “Haiwan.”
