Mehdi Hassan: Now responding to this statement of Ustad Tafu Khan, Mehdi Hassan sahab's son Imran Mehdi Hassan said, "In this context, I have come to give him this message that Ustad Tafu sahab, we have very good relations with your family. We have always respected you and your family since we came to our senses."
Recently, a video of Pakistani musician Ustad Tafu Khan went viral on social media, in which he was seen criticizing the voice of Shahenshah-e-Ghazal Mehdi Hassan. In this video, Ustad Tafu Khan has called Mehdi Hassan's voice 'the voice of God's peon', which was not liked by his fans as well as the family of the late singer. Now Mehdi Hassan's son Imran Hasan has responded to Ustad Tafu Khan regarding this video.
In an interview, a host asked Ustad Tafu Khan what Lata Mangeshkar says that God speaks in Mehdi Hasan Sahab's throat. Reacting to this, Ustad Tafu Khan said, "No, Mehdi Hasan Sahab used to sing only on a flat scale. If he went higher from there, his voice would get stretched. This should not happen, only the bass of his singing spoke. So the one who used to say that God was in his throat, he must be some peon of God."
Now, responding to this statement of Ustad Tafu Khan, Mehdi Hasan sahab's son Imram Mehdi Hasan said, "In this regard, I have come to give him this message that Ustad Tafu sahab, we have very good relations with your family. Ever since we have come to our senses, we have always respected you and your family. Always called you Tafu uncle. Always met you with our heads bowed. You were very close to my father in the film industry. You people have worked together." He further said, "These words came out of your mouth after my father's death and the way you spoke about my father, the Shahenshah-e-Ghazal Mehdi Hasan. I was not expecting such things from you. Because you spoke about my father, you have destroyed the respect you and your family had in our house with your own hands. My question to you is, did you really know Mehdi Hasan Sahab in terms of his art? I don't think so, if you knew, you would not have said such cheap things. He is the Shahenshah-e-Mausiqui. He did not only sing ghazals, he also did playback singing. You should talk politely. Mehdi Hasan is a century. Mehdi Hasan has made you immortal too. One needs a whole life to understand his singing."
