Pallavi Joshi Writes to President Murmu Seeking Security for The Bengal Files Release

The film 'The Bengal Files' is going to be released in theaters on 5 September. Many people are opposing this film. In such a situation, actress-producer Pallavi Joshi has written a letter to President Draupadi Murmu demanding that the film be released peacefully in West Bengal. The film's director Vivek Agnihotri has put forth his point on this.

The film 'The Bengal Files' shows the story of the 1940 riots and the 1946 Noakhali riots. Speaking to ANI, Vivek Agnihotri said, "It is surprising that a film based on the history of Bengal is not being allowed to be released there. My distributor told me that the police are directly calling the multiplex network and telling them that if they release the film, they will have to face consequences."

Vivek Agnihotri further said, "The policemen are saying that they are not responsible if goons come and vandalise the film. I have appealed to Mamata Banerjee many times that if she releases the film, she will get a lot of merit. I am arranging a private screening. On this, I was told that even that will be disrupted. That is why Pallavi ji has been forced to write a letter to the President."

On Tuesday, Pallavi Joshi wrote a letter to the President of India, Draupadi Murmu. In this, she demanded security for the release of the film in West Bengal. Joshi alleged in the letter that an informal ban is being imposed on the film in West Bengal. Due to threats from the ruling party workers, theatres are refusing to screen the film.

'The Bengal Files' is directed by Vivek Agnihotri. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles.
