R. Madhavan Breaks Silence on ‘Dhurandhar’ Criticism, Says Box Office Numbers Speak for Themselves

The spy thriller ‘Dhurandhar’ made by Aditya Dhar continues to perform well at the box office. It has managed to get praise from several stars. Despite the film receiving several commendations, there have been criticisms labeling it as a propaganda film. The cast members have not been bothered by these complaints. R. Madhavan, an actor, has commented on the complaints about the film. R. Madhavan considers it something bound to happen and something we were aware of.

In a conversation with Pooja Talwar, R. Madhavan discussed both the success and criticism of "Dhurandhar." Regarding the film's criticism, Madhavan said, "From the beginning, I knew it would have an impact on society. Some people would initially give it very poor ratings." Madhavan recalled how critics negatively reviewed films like "Rang De Basanti" and "3 Idiots." He called it premature criticism, as both films proved to be huge box office hits.

Referring to the box office, R. Madhavan said that initial negative reviews often become irrelevant when audiences begin to appreciate the work. Those who gave negative ratings no longer matter, because audiences are liking the film. We're still in the industry. I'm not saying this maliciously; you're just not understanding the point. It's time for change." I've seen this before, so when it happened with Dhurandhar, I thought, "This has happened before." As actors, we dream of situations like this: when everyone says it's a bad film and it won't work. Then, suddenly, it explodes. That's exactly what happened with Dhurandhar.

Talking about Dhurandhar's collection, the film has grossed over ₹200 crore in seven days. The film has maintained its momentum at the box office since its opening day. This spy-thriller stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles.
