Tom Cruise called his ex-wife Nicole Kidman a great actress, this is how he got her work in the film

Cruise recalled meeting director Stanley Kubrick at that time. Cruise told Sight and Sound magazine, 'I went to his house. I read the script the day before and we spent the whole day talking about it. I knew about all his films. After that basically he and I got to know each other. While we were doing that, I suggested Nicole Kidman to play (the role of Alice). Because obviously she is a great actress.'

The actor was so excited to make the film 'Eyes Wide Shut' that he told the director 'Whatever it takes (to make the film), we will do it.'

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman were married from 1990 to 2001. They adopted two children during their marriage. Both are named Isabella Cruise and Connor Cruise.

Tom Cruise will soon be seen in 'Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning'. The film is set to release in Indian theatres on May 17. In India, the film will be released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu. It is the eighth installment of Tom Cruise's blockbuster action franchise.

On May 14, the film will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Tom Cruise's previous releases at Cannes include 'Far and Away' (1992) and 'Top Gun: Maverick' in 2022.
