Urvashi Rautela Called for ED Questioning Over ‘OneXbet’ Promotion

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons actress Urvashi Rautela in the illegal betting app case. She has been called for questioning at ED's Delhi headquarters on September 16.

Urvashi had promoted a betting app called 'OneXbet', whose video is present on social media. On this basis, ED has summoned her. Apart from her, former TMC MP Mimi Chakraborty has also received summons in this case and has been asked to appear on September 15.

In fact, ED's investigation revealed that many online betting platforms are spreading their business in India illegally. One of these is 'OneXbet', whose advertisements and promotions have found many celebrities involved. The investigating agency wants to understand the extent to which these stars have played a role in the promotion and publicity of these apps.

In this connection, the ED is questioning all the celebrities who promoted this app. Last week, the ED questioned Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in connection with a money laundering investigation against illegal online betting platforms. Several platforms were allegedly used on these platforms for pseudo advertisements and to collect money from users. It is being told that many people have invested money in this and have suffered a lot financially.

Another cricketer Suresh Raina was also questioned by the agency last month. The ED is investigating the relationship of celebrities with betting apps, any advertising fees earned and the mode of communication between them.

The investigating agency had also summoned representatives of Google and Meta (Facebook) for questioning as part of the investigation.
