On Friday, Yami Gautam posted an Instagram post clarifying the controversy. She writes in her Instagram post, "I've learned that I 'liked' a reel that was trolling another actress. We're tagged in many things every day. This post, like any other, was from an awards function. It's not true that the post was liked intentionally. It could have been an accidental click."

She further writes in her Instagram post, "I've never resorted to cheap PR tactics in my life. I've always focused on my work and moved forward. In this world of clickbait, it's surprising that major social media portals are turning this into gossip. But I hope they'll consider that I've earned better respect than this."

Yami also revealed that she doesn't have a PR team. She says, "I don't have one. I've made my stand on award shows clear long ago. I focus on my work."

Last year, Yami Gautam appeared in the film "Haq." This film was based on the 1985 Mohammed Ahmed Khan vs. Shah Bano Begum case. The film addresses women's rights. Yami Gautam may also be seen in "Dhurandhar 2," which is directed by her husband, Aditya Dhar.
