Actor Unni Mukundan summoned by Kerala court in assault case, to appear on this date

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan is in trouble legally. His ex-manager, Vipin Kumar, has charged him with assault and battery. A court in Kerala has called him to court for this. The Kakkanad Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has called the actor to court on October 27 for the assault case registered by Vipin Kumar.

This summons to actor Unni Mukundan has been made after a police inquiry in which adequate evidence has been gathered. The evidence comprises around 10 minutes of CCTV footage, testimonies, circumstantial evidence, and mobile tower location. Earlier, there were claims and assertions that there was no attack evidence or CCTV footage. But the police inquiry validated the complaint with evident proof.

The charge sheet against the actor was filed under sections 115(2), 126(2), 296(B), 351(2), and 324(4), which relate to offenses including trespassing into the victim's flat premises with intent to cause injury, premeditated assault, verbal abuse, threats to kill, and damage to property (specifically, throwing and destroying the victim's sunglasses). These charges are bailable, and it is expected that Mukundan will apply for bail through the regular legal process.

Earlier, in response to Vipin's complaint, Unni Mukundan held a press conference, claiming that he had not harmed Vipin Kumar and that he would quit acting if proven otherwise. He also alleged that Vipin was not his manager. At a press conference held in Kochi, Mukundan clarified that no physical assault had occurred and that the controversy had been misrepresented.
