Many started questioning whether the storyline of the film was true. Recently, a Pakistani journalist has commented on the matter.

Recently, Arif Aajakia, a Pakistani journalist, made a comment on the Bollywood film Dhurandhar. He stated that the scenes depicted in the film regarding Lyari and Karachi have a lot in common with real-life events.

In fact, this Ranveer Singh film was released in 2025 and is now once again in the news. The film depicts the crime and gangster network operating in Karachi's Lyari area, and is said to be inspired by real events.

During a conversation with journalist Saurabh Dwivedi at Talk Journalism 2026, Arif Aajakia stated that he personally lived in Lyari and witnessed what is depicted in the film. He also mentioned that he served as the mayor of Jamshed Town.

During the conversation, he said, "I was born and raised in Lyari, so everything depicted in the film is true."

Not only this, Arif Aajakia also made an interesting point about his roots. He revealed that his parents were from Junagadh, Gujarat, India. He said, "I was born in Karachi, but I consider myself of Indian origin, not Pakistani."

The film "Dhurandhar" tells the story of an Indian agent on a secret mission. It also addresses issues such as terrorism, intelligence operations, and border tensions. Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi play important roles in the film.
