Khalifa Makers Reveal Shine Varghese’s Character Look
Makers of Prithviraj-starrer Khalifa unveil Shine Varghese’s character poster as Sudhip; film releases August 20, 2026.
Chennai, August 11 — The makers of the eagerly awaited revenge thriller Khalifa, directed by Vysakh and starring Prithviraj in the lead, on Tuesday revealed actor Shine Varghese’s look and confirmed that he plays a character named Sudhip in the film.
Taking to social media to share the first-look poster, Prithviraj wrote: “Shine Varghese as Sudhip. Character Poster #5. #KHALIFA In cinemas from 20th August 2026!”
The makers had earlier disclosed that actress Mohini plays Noorjahan, Kyraa Vasudevan portrays Vyshanavi and Master Nafash appears as Rushin. Actor Shammi Thilakan essays the role of Raghavan.
The unit wrapped shooting in June this year after filming key sequences in Dubai earlier in the year. Khalifa ranks among the more anticipated action entertainers of the year.
Recently, Prithviraj shared a younger-looking image of himself from the film with the caption “AAMIR – The story that was…! #KHALIFA.” He plays Aamir Ali in the movie.
On his birthday last year, the actor released a glimpse video and described the story as “a revenge forged by a lineage that spans generations.” The teaser opens with a news bulletin announcing that police and customs officials have unearthed a multi-million-dollar gold-smuggling racket operating out of the Middle East through networks in London, Nepal and Kerala.
In the sequence, an elderly man is interrogated by a customs official named Panicker, who claims that Aamir is finished and can be jailed under the COFEPOSA Act. The interrogated man responds by recounting the historical origins of the legislation, linking it to figures such as Sukur Naren Bakhia, Haji Mastan, Mudaliar and Mambaraykkal Ahmed Ali, and identifies Aamir as the grandson of Ahmed Ali.
The glimpse then shifts to action sequences featuring Prithviraj, suggesting a thriller built around high-stakes chase and stunt set-pieces.
With character posters continuing to roll out and the theatrical release scheduled for 20 August 2026, Khalifa is positioning itself as a major Onam-window action drama.
