German social media star Younes Zarou was forcibly removed from Church Street by Bengaluru police on Wednesday evening. He too was detained for a while. There was a crowd that surrounded Younes Zarou when he visited. Singer Ed Sheeran was earlier prevented from performing on Church Street without authorization.

Police said that Zarou, who has more than 21 million followers on Instagram, went to Church Street without any permission for a big function. However, shortly before going there, he had posted on Instagram, which read 'We are coming to Church Street.'

Due to the post, a huge crowd gathered. This raised concerns about public safety in the busy area. The officers were informed about the crowd gathering and immediately rushed to the spot.

The police explained to Zaru that prior permission is required for such a large gathering. The police cited the stampede during RCB's victory celebrations as an example of the potential risks. Zaru was taken away in a police vehicle and dropped at another place. Zaru assured the police that he would not visit Church Street again.

Church Street, located in the heart of Bengaluru, is a bustling hotspot. It attracts all kinds of people.

In February, the Cubbon Park police stopped British musician Ed Sheeran's live street performance on the same street, saying the popular singer-songwriter had not taken permission for it. The event was stopped when the Grammy winner was performing his song 'Shape of You'.
