Shaan Reveals He Too Considered Retiring From Playback Singing - Opens Up About KK and Sonu Nigam's Advice
Veteran singer Shaan has revealed that his songs once resonated in every film, but today he has very little work.
In January this year, famous singer Arijit Singh declared his retirement from playback singing and shocked Bollywood along with millions of his fans. But now, veteran singer Shaan has come out and said that he was also going to retire from playback singing.
Singer Shaan, who has sung many superhit songs like "Chand Sifarish" and "Tanha Dil," too, was thinking of retiring from playback singing. The singer himself revealed this.
Shaan explains, "By the age of 33-34, I had sung every kind of song and had even received two or three major awards. But then, it felt like I had no time for anything else. It was just one thing after another. Even Arijit Singh, after reaching his peak, was very selective in his work."
Shaan further said, "I used to leave home in the morning and return home after singing songs from all kinds of films. My friends KK and Sonu Nigam even advised me to maintain my standards and not sing for everyone. However, I used to say that if someone called me with love, how could I refuse anyone."
Shaan said, "I used to sing so many songs that after returning home in the evening, I couldn't remember what I had sung. Perhaps that news reached God as well. (Smiling) He said, you don't need to leave, we will do it ourselves. After that, the work started decreasing."
