She passed away a day prior to her 80th birthday after battling illness for an extended period. She was 79 years old and her birthday falls on August 5.

Anderson played the strong receptionist of a struggling radio station in the hit TV show 'WKRP in Cincinnati'. She received two Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe nominations for this role. Anderson's family said, 'We are very sad to announce the death of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.'

Anderson's longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, said she had been ill for a long time. She said Anderson had long been working to spread awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). She had taken care of her parents, who were suffering from this disease. Therefore, she actively spoke against this disease.

Loni Anderson was a famous American actress. She got the most recognition from the TV show named 'WKRP in Cincinnati', which ran from 1978 to 1982. In this show, she played the role of a receptionist named Jennifer. Her character was very intelligent and attractive. She used to handle unwanted phone calls for her boss Mr. Carlson and ran the radio station well with her cleverness. Along with her in this show, there were artists like Gary Sandy, Tim Reid, Howard Hessman, Frank Bonner and Jan Smithers.

Apart from this, Loni Anderson also worked in the 1983 comedy film Stroker Ace, in which she was paired with actor Burt Reynolds. She married Burt, but the couple got divorced in 1994.
