Randeep told that the team had planned to shoot the Punjab part first. It had wrestling scenes. But later the shooting time was changed. He said that if a person living in jail remains fit, it will not look good. To make this role real, Randeep reduced his food and water intake. This deteriorated his health. According to a news, Randeep had lost 18 kg of weight to act in this film. The film Sarbjit was directed by Omung Kumar.
