On Saturday, a special musical program was being organized in Mumbai in memory of the famous singer Mohammed Rafi. On this occasion, veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar and actor Jitendra attended as special guests. The name of the program was 'Rooh-e-Rafi', in which many artists from the world of music paid their tribute to Rafi sahab.

On this occasion, Javed Akhtar got emotional and said that his biggest regret is that he could not write songs at the time when Rafi sahab was alive. He said that when he came to the industry, he was active as a script writer, and the process of writing songs started later. Akhtar said that he always had a desire in his heart that someday Rafi sahab should give his voice to the song written by him, but fate did not give this opportunity.

He also mentioned his favourite Rafi songs, which included immortal songs like 'Jaag Dil e Deewana', 'Meri Duniya Mein Tum Aayi', 'Saathi Na Koi Manzil', and 'Hui Sham Unka Khayal Aa Gaya'. Akhtar said that the identity of a civilized society is that it remembers its artists and gives them respect. Rafi sahab's voice still resonates in the hearts of people just as it used to resonate in his time.

At the same time, actor Jitendra also expressed his opinion on Rafi sahab's contribution and the beauty of old music. He said that nowadays new singers emerge every day, but in the old times there were only four or five singers whose voices ruled for decades. Jitendra clearly said that it is almost impossible to recreate the magic of personalities like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Rafi sahab, and Kishore Kumar. According to him, even though there is no dearth of talent today, the soul and depth of that era are not found now.

Let us tell you that this musical evening was presented by senior IRS officer, musician, and writer Rajesh Dhabre. Dhabre has been trying to bring Rafi Sahab's singing and his legacy to the people for a long time. By naming this evening 'Rooh-e-Rafi', he paid tribute to Rafi's soul and tunes.

Mohammad Rafi is considered the greatest singer of Hindi cinema. His versatility made him immortal in romantic songs to devotional songs, patriotism, and ghazals. Be it 'Teri Aankhon Ke Siva' or 'Kya Hua Tera Wada', Rafi Sahab's voice is still an inspiration for the new generation of singers and listeners.
