Chennai, Jan 10 (IANS) – Actor Jayam Ravi, who stars alongside Nithya Menen in director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’s romantic drama Kadhalikka Neramillai, shared an interesting anecdote at a pre-release event. The actor revealed that his decision to list his heroine’s name first in the film’s credits was inspired by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Addressing a question about this unique choice, Jayam Ravi explained, “A lot of people have asked why Nithya Menen's name appears before mine in the credits. They asked what gives me this kind of confidence, and I can only say ‘self-confidence.’ I’ve always believed in breaking stereotypes, whether it’s making a zombie film or a space film. Why not break this norm too?”

The actor continued, “I was inspired by Shah Rukh Khan, who was the first to suggest giving heroines top billing in credits. I wanted to carry forward this practice, especially when working with a woman director like Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. I am genuinely happy as a human to see this change.”

He added, “Men and women are incomplete without each other. We’ve created this mirage of division, but the truth is, both are essential. I’m grateful to my fans for supporting me in all my unconventional choices.”

Talking about Kadhalikka Neramillai, Jayam Ravi expressed his pride in being part of a film with a title inspired by a classic. “The title is very apt for the story. I’m thrilled to be a part of this project that explores relationships while addressing important social issues.”

The film, produced by Red Giant Movies, features an ensemble cast including Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, TJ Banu, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini, and Rohaan Singh. The music is composed by A R Rahman, with cinematography by Gavemic Ary and editing by Lawrence Kishore. Choreography is by Shobi Paulraj, Sandy, and Leelavathi.

Set to release on January 14, Kadhalikka Neramillai is expected to captivate audiences with its meaningful narrative and powerful performances.
