Jude said, "I'm looking at the foothills, thinking, 'Oh God, what have I said?'" Admitting that he often feels this way after doing challenging roles. The film will show the character of Vladimir Putin as a rising politician.
The film is an adaptation of the book with the same title by Giuliano da Empoli. Dano will star as Vadim Baranov, an artist who later became a TV producer and shaped society through propaganda and media, while Vikander will star as Xenia, a character whose love becomes a moral turning point for Baranov. The script, written by Assayas himself and Emmanuelle Carrere, is a tale all about power, manipulation, and personal morals.
