There was a controversy between the censor board and its creators over the film 'Janaki vs State of Kerala'. This issue went to court. When the Kerala High Court heard the case, the attorney appearing on behalf of the censor board had stated that the film would be cleared upon two modifications. Know, what is this whole matter? And how did the makers of the film agree to change the name?

The censor board had said in court that if the makers make two changes in the film, it will be passed. The first change is that the title of the film will be slightly modified. Now the name of the film will be either 'Janaki V vs State of Kerala' or 'V Janaki vs State of Kerala'. This will make it clear that the name Janaki is not related to Devi but to the main character Janaki Vidyadharan. The second change is related to the cross-examination scene going on in the courtroom, in which it has been advised to mute the name of the heroine. On this, the court has sought a reply from the filmmakers, and a further hearing has been scheduled. Now, in response to this, the makers have agreed to change the name.

According to PTI, during the hearing in the court on Wednesday, the CBFC, i.e., the censor board informed the court that if the makers change the name of their film, it can be approved within three days. In such a situation, the makers said that it would be difficult to change the name of the film so close to the release. But the censor board remained firm on its stand. Finally, the makers of the film agreed to change the name.

Directed by Praveen Narayanan and starring Anupama Parameswaran, Janaki vs State of Kerala depicts the legal struggle of a rape victim. The release of this film has also been affected due to the delay in the censor certificate. Now that the matter has been resolved, the film can be released soon.
