Preparations to bring a spinoff of The Equalizer, two new characters will rock the series
The Equalizer: According to media reports, casting is currently underway for two new characters. If the work on the spinoff progresses, this show with two main characters will be different from the 1985 Equalizer series, the current CBS reboot as well as the films made on it.
CBS's popular series 'The Equaliser' is getting ready for a spinoff. The primary lead in this series has been Queen Latifah. Robin McCall is the name of her character. As a former CIA officer, she applies her skills to help those without support. According to sources, two new characters will be introduced in the 516th episode of this series, which can later become the basis of their own series.
According to media reports, casting is currently underway for two new characters. The first character is a young woman who is a martial artist, a weapons expert, and an expert in solving criminal cases. She approaches McCall for help, and the other is an older male character who is a former CIA member. Both of these characters would be guest roles on the current series, but there is the possibility of these characters becoming series regulars if the spinoff project moves forward.
Should the spinoff happen, the series starring two leads would certainly be a departure from the 1985 series Equalizer as well as the current CBS reboot and the movies based on it. For now, with its spin-off hopes, CBS is assuming a rather casual approach to its plans by introducing the potential spinoff characters in regular mentions of the mother show.
Last year, Fire Country featured Morena Baccarin in a guest starring role as the sheriff, with a spinoff series based on the character cleared later. A similar guest role by Tracy Morgan on CBS' The Neighborhood spawned a Paramount+ spinoff series titled Clutch that boasted a new iteration of Morgan's character. In addition to Fire Country, The Equalizer will share this list with some of the multi-series drama franchises that are currently on air over CBS like NCIS and FBI. The series has been ranked in the top 10 entertainment programs since its launch after the Super Bowl in 2021. Currently, the series airs at 9 pm every Sunday and after February 16th, this series will be shifted to 10 pm.
