Kangana Ranaut on BJP, Politics and Films: ‘Today the BJP Is With Me, Tomorrow They May Not Be’
Kangana Ranaut: Actress and MP Kangana Ranaut recently stated that she has her own identity, separate from the Bharatiya Janata Party. She also stated that directors still consider her a favorite actress.
However, Kangana Ranaut believes that she is no puppet. The actress and BJP Member of Parliament says that the BJP may not back her in the future. Kangana Ranaut also said that she still continues to be one of the favorite actresses for many film directors.
In an interview with DD National, Kangana Ranaut highlighted the difference between her personal opinion and the party’s opinion. She also said that although at times her opinions are in contradiction with BJP’s position, but her main identity comes from being an actress for the last 20 years and not a politician for two years.
Kangana Ranaut said, "It's not that I want to separate from my party, but at the same time, I feel that when there's so much noise, one has to speak out loud to make one's point heard. That's why I sometimes make strong statements."
She further said, "I don't want to deliberately separate from the party, but if I ever do, as an individual, I should keep in mind that I'm not a puppet."
"Today the BJP is with me, tomorrow they may not be. I've been an MP for two years. My career as an actor has been going on for 20 years. For 20 years, I've had my own identity."
Talking about her film career, Kangana said that despite entering politics, her popularity in the film industry remains intact. She said, "Many directors want to cast me in their films. Many of them are just waiting. They ask me, 'Why did you leave the industry?' There's so much more to do in life."
Kangana Ranaut has stressed that if she returns to acting, she would prefer to do roles that suit her age rather than working opposite any 'Khan or Kumar'.
