Kanguva is surrounded by some legal controversy before release

The fans of Bobby Deol and the Suriya are eagerly waiting for their upcoming film Kanguva. Disha Patani will be seen in the lead role in this film, directed by Shiva Suriya. The producers are KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green, Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati of UV Productions. There is even more hype about the film due to its worldwide release.

Despite all this, the film seems to be stuck in trouble. The film was earlier scheduled to release in the year 2019 but its release was postponed due to Corona. According to Financial Express, work on it was started again in the year 2022. The film is made on a budget of 300 to 350 crores and according to that, it is considered to be one of the most expensive Indian films ever.

The Tamil Nadu government had reportedly requested the filmmakers to change their first show time from 11 am to 5 pm. But the state government refused and maintained that only five shows would be screened a day, with the first show at 9 in the morning and the night show ending at 2 in the afternoon. Earlier shows would be shown than the Tamil Nadu States like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala. Now, all that remains to be seen is how much the movie manages to collect on the first day.

An old case of 2011 related to the law has heated up again. In fact, the producer of the show, Gyanvel, along with the late Arjunlal Sundardas, had decided to invest Rs 40 crore for the film. An official assignee, who took over after the death of Arjunlal, filed an application asking the court to modify its order passed on August 12.

The assignee had said that Kanguva should be released after depositing Rs 1 crore. Now, Justices G Jayachandran and CV Karthikeyan ordered that if Rs 20 crore is not deposited by Wednesday night, the film cannot be released on Thursday.

Though the makers have convinced the government for morning shows, there is resentment among fans as advance bookings are not open till Tuesday. But the makers have asked people to not spread negativity regarding the film.

Also, the release of Kanguva was postponed earlier by the makers. The film was supposed to hit the cinema halls on October 10 but later its date changed to November 14. Actually, the date was changed due to its clash with Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Vettaiyaan on October 10. However, the movie will also face a competition from Sivakarthikeyan, Sai Pallavi starrer Amaran.
