In this, she revealed that Smita Patil didn't approve of the character who was previously offered to her while casting this movie, she insisted on acting out some other woman's character.
Actress Shabana Azmi discussed the casting of the movie 'Arth', produced in 1982. In an interview with Filmfare, she explained that actress Smita Patil was to play the character of a maid in the movie 'Arth', who was subsequently played by actress Rohini Hattangadi. Shabana revealed that Smita insisted on portraying the character of some other woman.
