Chitrangada Singh defends 'Housefull 5', says not every film is socially correct
Housefull 5 Film: Actress Chitrangada has defended the film 'Housefull 5'. She has talked about her career and praised Akshay Kumar.
The movie 'Housefull 5' is being blamed for objectifying females. The movie is being criticized for this. The film's actress has stood up for Housefull 5. Chitrangada Singh has stated that a movie needs to be judged based on its genre. Every movie is not moral or political.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Chitrangada Singh said, 'I think every film has a different genre. There is a tune and a rhythm for it.' She responded to the fact that Housefull 5 objectifies women. Chitrangada Singh said, 'Whatever Akshay Kumar did is not 'Housefull 5'. She has done films like Padman, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, and Kesari.
Chitrangada further said that as an artist, she has played roles ranging from socially empowered women to glamorous ones. She said, 'I have worked in films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Inkaar, I have played very strong characters but as an actress those characters are also a part of me. I have also acted in songs like Kafirana and Kundi, it does not mean that I am also like that.'
Chitrangada said, 'This film is different. It has been approved by the censor board. I think sometimes we need to be in a different mood. Not everything is politically or socially correct. We cannot drive everyone by a stick. The purpose of the film is to entertain.'
'Housefull 5', directed by Tarun Mansukhani, has adult comedy. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Dinu Maurya, Johnny Lever, Chunky Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Nitin Dheer, Sonam Bajwa and Soundarya Sharma.
