Did not get industry support in Jiah Khan case, Sooraj Pancholi himself told these two big reasons
Sooraj Pancholi On Bollywood Industry: Sooraj Pancholi has recently told in an interview why the people of the industry did not support him when he was going through difficult times.
Sooraj Pancholi was recently featured in a movie called 'Kesari Veer'. Now, he has spoken on why he went through problems in the Jiah Khan case. He was arrested at 20. He was ousted from the industry. He went through all this alone for over a decade. Sooraj has spoken on all these issues with Lucky Bisht recently. Actor Jiah Khan took her own life in 2013. Sooraj Pancholi was accused of this.
Recalling this case, he said, 'I come from a film family. My mother is an actress, my father is also an actor. My father's image was very strong, especially when he was active in films. He was very outspoken - he would say whatever he felt, and if he didn't like something, he would react openly. Because of his image, people assumed I was the same. There was a lot of media attention on me, and I was very young at that time. I was just 20 or 21. At that age, when there is so much happening around you, it is difficult to even understand it, let alone react to it.'
He further added, 'The charges were initially filed under Section 306. Later, the police also added Section 302. Actually, no one knew where the pressure was coming from. Our investigating officers were constantly getting calls, asking them to file charges under Section 302 and even 307. There was a lot of pressure, and they also seemed worried about it. To this day, I don't know why there was so much pressure or who it was coming from.'
Sooraj Pancholi said about not getting support from others in the industry except Salman Khan, 'I understand why I did not get much support at that time. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, my father was not close to any influential person in the industry. He never worked with any big studio. The second reason is the legal matter. From a producer's point of view, casting someone involved in an active investigation is risky. If the CBI calls or there is a trial, the shooting may get delayed. This means a loss of crores. That's why people hesitated to support me.
In an old interview, Sooraj Pancholi had said that Salman Khan had supported him in his difficult times. Salman Khan got him work in the film Hero (2015).
