Nearly two months after its release, Hanuman Ansh is still in theatres and still earning. The film, released on August 7, completed 55 days at the box office on Wednesday, September 30, collecting ₹1.81 crore on that day. It was made on a budget of only ₹2 crore, and it has become one of the year's most talked-about success stories.
The early signs were not encouraging. The film reportedly earned just ₹40 lakh in its first two weeks, and there was talk of pulling it from theatres. Its third week changed that. The film, based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, picked up strongly and went on to outperform films such as Toxic, Mirzapur and Haiwaan at the box office.
