Dulquer Salmaan has built a reputation in Telugu cinema for picking stories with heart, and his next appears to be no different. The teaser of director Pavan Sadineni’s “Aakasamlo Oka Tara,” featuring Dulquer and Satvika Veeravalli in the lead, was released on Saturday, offering a moving glimpse into a story about chasing dreams against all odds.
A Teaser That Speaks of Hope
Swapna Cinemas shared the teaser on its social media handles with the caption: “The sweetest dreams are chased with love. Haven’t experienced this magic yet? Watch the #AOTTeaser now.”
The film is set to release worldwide on November 20 this year.
Kalpana’s Fight to Reach the Sky
The teaser introduces Kalpana, a brilliant student who secures the first rank in her district. Despite her academic success, she is discouraged at every step, even by her parents, who eventually get her married. That is when Krishna enters her life and becomes her biggest pillar of support.
When others tell Kalpana that she cannot even cross the boundaries of her village, she boldly declares that she will cross the boundaries of the earth and reach for the sky. Krishna shares her vision and encourages her to dream big, work hard and pursue her goals.
Satvika Veeravalli at the Heart of the Story
The makers had earlier marked Dulquer’s birthday by releasing a new poster and revealing that he plays Krishna. Months ago, they also introduced Satvika Veeravalli as the lead.
Sharing her introduction video on Instagram, Geetha Arts wrote: “She carries a dream bigger than the sky…. Introducing Satvika Veeravalli - The dreamer who gives wings to #AakasamLoOkaTara #AOTMovie.”
That video opens with a child pointing to the sky and asking, “How do I go to space?” It then shows Satvika as a young woman from a rural area who is dissuaded from her dream. A man’s voice is heard saying: “Coming from a village that has no roads, you harbour plans of going to space? First, you show us if you can cross the borders of the village. Then, we’ll see.”
The glimpses make it clear that the film revolves around Satvika’s character, a girl from a remote village who dreams of becoming an astronaut.
Who Is Behind the Film
The film is produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam under the Light Box Media banner and presented by Geetha Arts and Swapna Cinema. Two-time National Award winner G V Prakash Kumar has composed the music, Sujith Sarang handles cinematography, and National Award-winning editor K L Praveen is in charge of editing.
Why It Matters
It is rare to see a star of Dulquer’s stature play the supporting force in a heroine-led story. That choice alone makes “Aakasamlo Oka Tara” stand out. After winning Telugu audiences with films like “Mahanati,” “Sita Ramam” and “Lucky Baskhar,” Dulquer is now backing a story where the spotlight belongs to the woman’s dream.
Audience Sentiment
The teaser’s emotional theme of a small-town girl defying social limits is likely to resonate with families and young viewers alike, especially in a country where stories of first-generation achievers continue to inspire.
What Comes Next
With the release set for November 20, fans can expect the makers to roll out songs and a trailer in the coming weeks, giving a deeper look at Kalpana and Krishna’s journey.
