Rajinikanth's new movie 'Coolie', which was released recently, is playing in theaters now. It is making huge money at the box office. But meanwhile, a controversy had also broken out over 'Coolie' and now this issue has gone to High Court. In which Sun Pictures has objected to CBFC's decision to give an 'A' certificate to the movie.

With the CBFC giving the film an 'A' certificate, now only people above 18 years of age will be able to watch it. Regarding this, the makers have now raised objection and filed a petition in the Madras High Court. The makers say that the film has been rated unfairly in comparison to such big films. Justice TV Tamilselvi accepted the petition and also directed a hearing on it. It is possible that the matter may also be heard today. Sun Pictures says that 'Coolie' has action scenes equal to films like 'KGF' and 'Beast', which got U/A certificate. In such a situation, why has 'Coolie' got an A certificate.

In the debate held in the court, Central Government lawyer A Kumaraguru claimed that the petition is not maintainable. However, senior advocate J Ravindran, assisted by M Sneha, said that the High Court has the right to hear such appeals under the Cinematograph Act, 1952 and the Tribunal Reforms Act, 2021. Despite requesting the CBFC several times for a U/A rating, the scrutiny and revision committees retained the 'A' rating citing more action scenes in the film.

Sun Pictures says that Rajinikanth has fans in every generation. In such a situation, keeping children and teenagers away from cinemas weakens the purpose of this film. This is an entertaining film, which has been released on the occasion of Rajinikanth's 50th year in cinema. In many cinemas of Tamil Nadu, parents clashed with theater owners to allow children inside the hall.

'Coolie' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is a big budget film. Apart from Rajinikanth, actors like Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Upendra Kumar and Aamir Khan have also appeared in important roles in the film. The film, released on August 14, is competing with Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's 'War 2' at the box office. Where 'Coolie' is overshadowing 'War 2'.
