Padma Shri Awardee Darshanam Mogilaiah Passes Away: Padma Shri Awardee string instrument player Darshanam Mogilaiah passed away on the morning of 19 December 2024. He was 67 years old. He was suffering from kidney disease for a long time.
After tabla player Zakir Hussain, now the news has come that the famous string instrument player Darshanam Mogilaiah has passed away. Darshanam Mogilaiah was ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment for kidney problems. Today i.e. on 19 December, he breathed his last.
Darshanam Mogilaiah was a resident of Telangana, and used to play a special kind of musical instrument Kinnara. It is an ancient instrument associated with the folk tradition of Telangana. He was one of the few people to play this instrument. Darshanam Mogilaiah made a huge contribution to getting this instrument recognized across the country. In the year 2022, he was also honored with the Padma Shri Award.
Darshanam Mogilaiah was seen in the 2023 Telugu film 'Balagam'. His acting and songs were highly appreciated in this film. Apart from this film, Mogilaiah also lent his voice to Pawan Kalyan's film 'Bheemla Nayak'. After this film, he made a special place in the hearts of Telugu-speaking audiences. Even in the future, the audience and listeners wanted to see him acting and singing in films.
Darshanam Mogilaiah had been suffering from health problems for a long period. He was suffering due to kidney-related problems. Under such critical situations, the state government and people in the film industry provided immense support to him. The government in Telangana approved financial assistance to Darshanam Mogilaiah. Even the producer-director of his movie Balagam came forward by sharing the treatment expenses of the actor. But even after so many efforts, he could not recover, he breathed his last on 19 December. Darshanam Mogilaiah's last rites will be performed at his native village in Warangal.
