Diljit Dosanjh and Abhijeet Bhattacharya face to face, conversation gets more heated
The war of words between singer Diljit Dosanjh and Abhijeet Bhattacharya has intensified on social media.

Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is getting widespread opposition for acting with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in 'Sardar Ji 3'. Meanwhile, a video clip from singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh's 'Dil-Luminati Tour Concert' is going viral on social networking platforms, in which he has provided suitable responses to trolls.
Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh's most-awaited Punjabi movie 'Sardar Ji 3' was recently released in theaters. The trailer of the movie was released on June 22, on which Pakistani actress Hania Aamir's appearance had stirred controversy. Due to including a Pakistani artist in the film, opposition to the actor-singer arose on social media.
Meanwhile, Diljit responded to trolls at the concert, saying, “Agar Khilaf Hai… toh hona do, jaan thodi hai. Agar Khilaf Hai… toh hona do, jaan thodi hai. Yeh sab dua hai, aasman thodi hai. Agar Khilaf Hai… toh hona do, jaan thodi hai. Yeh sab dua hai, aasman thodi hai. Sabki ka khoon hai iss mitti me, kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai.”
After Diljit’s video went viral on social media, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya hit back at the “Kisi ke baap ka Hindustan thodi hai” comment. He added his own clip along with Diljit’s clip on his Instagram account, in which he is seen saying, “Hindustan humare baap ka hai… Hindustan humare baap ke baap ka ancestors ka hai.” The post ended with a picture of Bhattacharya holding the tricolour in his hand, with “Saare Jahan Se Achcha” playing in the background. The singer captioned the post, “Hindustan humare baap ka hai…”
Amidst this entire controversy, famous filmmaker Imtiaz Ali supported the 'Amar Singh Chamkila' actor. He said, "I cannot say much on this controversy, but I know Diljit and I can say that he is full of patriotism. He is a son of the soil. You will see in every concert of his that he comes on stage with the Indian flag. No one asks him to do this, but he does it himself."
He said that Diljit does not do artificial things. He does not do anything with 'fakeness'. At the end of every show, he says 'Main Hoon Punjab' and he says this with the Indian flag.
Imtiaz Ali clarified that casting an artist in a film is not just the actor's decision. He said, "I don't know how the casting happened, but I know that Diljit has a lot of love for the country. Those who will be able to see the truth inside him will also be able to understand him."
