‘Raakh’ Villain Aakash Makhija Receives Death Threats After Powerful Performance
Raakh Series: While Aakash Makhija is garnering immense praise for his portrayal of the villain in the web series 'Raakh', he is simultaneously receiving death threats.
Aakash Makhija is currently in the limelight due to the web series 'Raakh'. He portrays a very frightening role of a villain 'Babu' in the series, and his acting has got huge appreciation from the viewers, but some reactions are quite disturbing.
Aakash talked about this in an interview, saying that he was getting weird messages on his Instagram DMs due to the audience reaction.
He said, "When I watch myself on screen, I am very critical of my work. I find it hard to judge myself. For me, what matters most is how the audience perceives my work. But whenever I open my Instagram DMs, people talk about killing me."
Aakash added that these messages clearly demonstrate the extent of the audience's hatred for his character, which, in a way, serves as a mark of his success.
He remarked, "I don't even fully comprehend the details written in these death threats. However, it certainly indicates that people have completely embraced the character of 'Babu'. He has become the most hated character in the country right now."
The actor also shared an interesting anecdote. He mentioned that when Ali Fazal's character, Jaiprakash, was beating him up, the audience rejoiced. Even his own mother became emotional watching the scene but felt happy seeing him get beaten. Laughing, Aakash said, "That is a mother's love."
Despite the frightening nature of some messages, Aakash Makhija views this as a testament to the success of his work. They say that such a strong response from the audience indicates that they have portrayed their character effectively.
The web series 'Raakh' has been released. It is inspired by the infamous 1978 Ranga-Billa case, considered one of India's most gruesome crimes. Ali Fazal and Sonali Bendre play pivotal roles in the series.
Aakash Makhija, Ramandeep Yadav, Divya Sharma, and Vivan Sharma also play significant roles. 'Raakh' is directed by Prosit Roy, who has previously crafted dark worlds in projects like 'Pari' and 'Paatal Lok'. It has been streaming on Amazon Prime since June 12.
