“Refuse To Dream Small”: Kunal Kapoor’s Emotional Thank-You Note After Playing Lord Indra In Ramayana

As “Ramayana: Part One” plays in theatres, Kunal Kapoor has shared a glimpse of his own journey with the film. The actor posted behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets, along with a long note of thanks. He plays Lord Indra, the king of the Devas, in a film that also stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi.

Thanks To The Makers

Kunal began by thanking Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari for trusting him with Lord Indra and making him “a small part of such a grand vision.” He also thanked casting director Mukesh Chhabra for thinking of him for what he called a special role and bringing him on board. Chhabra and Tiwari reportedly chose him for his tall, regal presence and refined diction. ramayanafilm

“Step By Step, Frame By Frame”

Reflecting on the shoot, Kunal wrote that watching the film being made had been a special experience. “It’s shown me what can be achieved when people refuse to dream small and then have the courage to achieve their dreams,” he wrote, adding that a lot of love, passion and faith had gone into the film, step by step and frame by frame.

He also thanked the wider team, including the cast, technicians, makeup artists, costume designers and everyone who worked behind the scenes, saying it takes a lot to make a film of this scale. He ended with a direct appeal: watch the film on the biggest screen you can.

Fan Reaction

Reports say audiences have praised his portrayal, with some fans even asking for a spin-off centred on Indra. That is a notable response for a supporting role in a film built around its leads. cinebuster

Why It Matters

Cast members publicly crediting technicians and crew has become part of how big Indian productions build goodwill, and Kunal’s note does exactly that. It also highlights the scale of the film, which opened on a record-wide release with large ensemble roles, including supporting actors such as Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Anupam Kher, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and Vivek Oberoi.

The Film

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Prime Focus Studios and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, “Ramayana: Part One” is in theatres worldwide. Kunal, born in 1977 and known for films such as “Rang De Basanti,” is among the experienced names filling out its cast.
