At one time, I dreamed of having eleven children. But after this relationship, I no longer want children. My boyfriend often made me feel very bad about my self-confidence and professional achievements. This relationship influenced many of my decisions, both in my personal life and career. I was often made to feel ashamed of being a woman and even of being an actor.
Further in her conversation, Anupama Parameswaran said, "It could be the first day of your period, the fifth day, the tenth day, the fifteenth day, the twentieth day, the twenty-fifth day, any day. If you ask someone about their mistake, they'll say, 'Hey, you're having PMS, your period is yet to come.' I felt so ashamed when they said that. I felt terrible about being a woman. I started feeling bad about all my achievements."
In August 2025, Anupama was promoting her film "Pardha" with the director. During a question-and-answer session with the press, she suddenly became emotional and started crying. Her team calmed her down and gave her water.
When journalists repeatedly asked her why she was so emotional, Anupamaa had brushed it off, saying that shooting and promoting a female-centric film wasn't easy.
Recalling the incident recently, Anupamaa said, "No matter how difficult the situation, I'm not the kind of person who would break down on stage. It was because I was told the worst things no woman wants to hear. The person who should have protected me was the one who was tearing me apart."
