Pasha Talankin Loses Oscar Trophy: A strange incident occurred at New York Airport, where a filmmaker lost his Oscar. Find out what happened.
Russian film director Pasha Talankin received the Best Feature Documentary Award this year. He was nominated for an Oscar for the film "Mr. Nobody Against Putin." Something very bizarre and shocking happened recently. This is what happened.
Russian film director Pasha Talankin, who was co-director of the documentary "Mr. Nobody Against Putin," which won him an Oscar, was barred from boarding his flight in the JFK airport in New York.
It was reported that security officials mistook the Oscar trophy for a weapon. The trophy weighs approximately 3.8 kg. Talankin said that he had carried it on flights several times since winning the award in March, but had never encountered any problems before.
He said he couldn't understand how an Oscar could be considered a weapon. An airline employee tried to help, but security refused to listen.
Finally, Talankin was forced to send his trophy in cargo. Airline staff packed it in a box, but when he arrived in Frankfurt, Germany, his Oscar was missing.
The film's executive producer, Robin Hessman, stated that despite the airline having records of the box, the trophy had been lost. The airline issued a statement saying they regretted the incident and were trying to locate it as soon as possible.
The film, co-produced by David Borenstein and Talankin, won the Oscar for Best Feature Documentary this year.
