Trisha Krishnan, Radhika Sarathkumar, Aparna Balamurali Begin London Shoot For Women-Centric Psychological Horror

Panorama Studios is stepping into Tamil cinema for the first time, and it's doing so with an ambitious, genre-bending project. The studio, in association with Locomotive Global, has commenced shooting for its first Tamil production - an untitled psychological horror film directed by Raja Krishna Menon and starring Trisha Krishnan, Radhika Sarathkumar and Aparna Balamurali. The project is being billed as a dark psychological drama blended with horror, centred entirely around women.

The film has begun principal photography in London and is credited as a Fusion Flicks and Locomotive Global production. Producer credits go to Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Sunder Aaron, Vikas Sharma and Amit Dalmia, with Rajesh Menon and George Cameron serving as co-producers and Abhinav Mehrotra as creative producer. 

Three Generations, One Powerful Ensemble

The film brings together three actors with acclaimed work across Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi cinema. Trisha Krishnan is known for her roles in "96," "Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa," "Ghilli," and "Ponniyin Selvan," while Radhika Sarathkumar has appeared in films like "Kizhakku Cheemaiyile," "Pasumpon," "Thanga Magan," and "Theri." Aparna Balamurali's credits include "Soorarai Pottru," "Maheshinte Prathikaaram," and "8 Thottakkal." With three actresses from different generations coming together, the film positions itself as a rare, fully women-led genre project in Tamil cinema.

A Director Exploring New Territory

For Raja Krishna Menon - best known for helming films like "Airlift," "Chef," and "Pippa" - this project represents a significant creative departure. Speaking about the film, Menon described himself as "genre agnostic," calling this yet another exploration in that journey. He noted that the film is a first for him in several respects: his first Tamil-language film, his first psychological horror project, and his first story centred entirely around women. He also expressed enthusiasm about working with Trisha, Radhika, and Aparna, along with the film's wider cast and crew, calling the collaboration with Panorama Studios and Locomotive Global one built on creative trust and a shared commitment to the story's vision.

What The Film Promises

Unlike conventional horror built around jump scares, the project is being positioned as a slow-burn psychological thriller rooted in atmosphere, tension, and sustained suspense. Locomotive Global's Sunder Aaron and Vikas Sharma noted that they were drawn to the world of this Tamil-language psychological horror for its mystery, atmosphere, emotional depth, and sustained tension, adding that the film marks an exciting step in their growing pipeline of elevated horror projects.

Panorama Studios founder and chairman Kumar Mangat Pathak said the studio wanted its first Tamil production to reflect the tradition of bold, original, and culturally rooted storytelling that Tamil cinema is known for, expressing confidence that the film would offer audiences a fresh cinematic experience. 

Why It Matters: A Bigger South Push

This Tamil venture is also part of Panorama Studios' expanding South India strategy, building on its growing presence in Malayalam cinema through production, distribution, and strategic collaborations on projects including "Anomie," "Unmadham," and "Tiki Taka." The studio's "Production No. 4" and "Munpe," starring Tovino Thomas, are also currently in production, alongside collaborations with prominent Malayalam industry names like Fahadh Faasil. The move signals a broader trend of Hindi-language studios investing more deliberately in South Indian cinema, drawn by both its storytelling strength and its growing pan-India commercial appeal.

At present, the film's title, release date, and detailed plot remain under wraps, with the production team choosing to keep specifics tightly guarded as shooting continues in London. Given the pedigree of its cast and director, along with the backing of two established production banners, the project is likely to draw sustained attention as more details emerge in the coming months.
