TV Actress Deepika Singh Shares Spiritual Dance Video on First Sawan Monday
Television actress Deepika Singh shared a clip performing an impromptu Odissi dance routine at the historic Bhartari Gufa in Ujjain as a devotional offering to Lord Shiva.
MUMBAI, India (IANS) — Television actress Deepika Singh shared a spiritual moment from her recent visit to the historic Bhartari Gufa in Ujjain, revealing that a spontaneous thought inspired her to perform an unscripted dance as a devotional offering for Sawan Somwar.
Sharing a video on Instagram, the 36-year-old actress performed an impromptu routine set to Raghu's track Chandrachooda. Singh credited her formal Odissi dance training and the spiritual ambiance of the ancient caves for motivating the performance without prior rehearsal.
"Yesterday morning, after sitting for a few long breaths in Bhartari Gufa—where Raja Bhartari meditated for 12 years—a thought came to me," Singh wrote in her post. "For me, this wasn’t a performance. It was meditation in motion. A gratitude offering to Lord Nataraja, to Lord Shiva."
Located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the rock-cut Bhartari Gufa caves are famous as the site where the ancient king-turned-sage Bhartrihari meditated and composed classical Sanskrit works such as Niti Shataka.
Singh gained national recognition with her television debut in the hit daily soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, playing IPS Sandhya Kothari Rathi. She later starred in Kavach... Mahashivrati, featured in the web series Halala, and made her feature film debut in 2022 with Titu Ambani.
