New Delhi– The Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), often hailed as the “greatest literary show on earth,” is set to make a grand return for its 18th edition from January 30 to February 5, 2025, at Hotel Clarks Amer, Jaipur. Ahead of the main event, an exclusive Delhi preview was hosted at The Leela Palace, offering a captivating glimpse into the Festival’s meticulous programming and diverse themes.
This year, the Festival will delve into topics that shape our world, with sessions exploring Democracy and Equality, Crime Fiction, Biographies and Memoirs, Gastronomy, and much more. From mystery-filled narratives to intimate insights into extraordinary lives and the celebration of culinary traditions, the Festival promises to captivate audiences. Additional themes like theatre adaptations, cinema, history, and culture aim to create a rich mosaic of ideas and perspectives.
The 2025 edition boasts an impressive lineup of over 300 speakers, including Nobel laureates, Booker Prize winners, journalists, policymakers, and renowned writers. Among the prominent names are Abhijit Banerjee, Anita Anand, Amol Palekar, Esther Duflo, Geetanjali Shree, Javed Akhtar, Ira Mukhoty, Rahul Bose, Miriam Margolyes, and Venki Ramakrishnan. These luminaries will address an array of global and regional issues, fostering thoughtful discussions and cross-cultural dialogue.
A highlight of this year’s Festival is its commitment to inclusivity, marked by the return of Sign Language Interpretation Sessions, in collaboration with Nupur Sansthan, ensuring that stories and ideas remain accessible to all.
The concurrent Jaipur BookMark (JBM), South Asia’s leading publishing conclave, will celebrate its 12th year with a focus on translations, storytelling innovations, and the role of AI in publishing. Norway, as the Country Partner for JBM, continues its decade-long association, emphasizing the importance of translations in literature.
