JP Dutta broke silence on Diljit-Varun Dhawan joining 'Border 2', said this on Sunny Deol
Border 2: JP Dutta spoke on the success of Border and called it the biggest milestone of his life. Talking about Border 2, JP Dutta revealed why he is not directing the film.
In 1997, JP Dutta, a veteran filmmaker gave a blockbuster film like Border. The movie was a war drama directed by him featuring Sunil Shetty, Sunny Deol, and many other actors in the lead roles.
Now the senior filmmaker is back with this movie's sequel after the release of Border for over two decades. JP Dutta will be the producer of the film "Border 2" and Anurag Singh will be directed. Recently the veteran filmmaker reacted to Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh joining the star cast of Border 2.
Speaking about the success of the Border, JP Dutta called it the biggest milestone of his life. The filmmaker said that this film has ensured him immortality. Talking about Border 2, JP Dutta revealed why he is not directing the film. He said, 'I have never directed a film that I have not written. I have always been a writer-director. This story has been written by Nidhi.' Director Anurag Singh is set to direct the sequel of Border.
Talking about Sunny and the new generation of actors joining the film, he said, 'It has always been a dream journey with Sunny and now with the new blood Varun and Diljit playing the famous heroes of the armed forces, it will be fantastic.' On August 23, Varun had written an emotional note as he announced his joining to JP Dutta's Border 2. The Bollywood actor shared a special note for the filmmaker in his social media post.
He wrote, 'JP Dutta sir ki war epic abhi tak meri favorite films mein se hai. JP sir aur Bhushan Kumar ke production film Border 2 mein kaam karke bahut achha lag raha hai'. I got to work with my hero Sunny Paaji, and special was every single moment. Backed by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, 'Border 2' is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026.
