Prime Video clarified Shekhar Kapur's allegations regarding 'Bandit Queen', said this
Bandit Queen: OTT platform Prime Video has responded to the allegations of famous film director Shekhar Kapur, in which he had talked about making changes in his film 'Bandit Queen'. Know what Prime Video said.
A few days ago, senior director Shekhar Kapur alleged that OTT platform Prime Video had modified his cult film 'Bandit Queen' without his consent. Shekhar Kapur had even claimed that after modification his film is not recognizable. Now Prime Video has cleared the charges of the director and the charges have been found to be false.
In the clarification issued by Prime Video, the spokesperson of the platform said, "Prime Video has not made any changes to the version of the film 'Bandit Queen' streaming on our platform. The version of the film available on Prime Video has been made available to us by the film's distributor NH Studios." A few days ago, director Shekhar Kapur of the film 'Bandit Queen alleged through a post on X that the film 'Bandit Queen' available on Prime Video is not recognizable from my film. Someone has made so many changes in the film that it is no longer recognizable. These changes have been made without my consent. Still, I have been credited as the director. Shekhar Kapur also said that are we inferior to Western directors? Will they have the courage to cut Chris Nolan's film without his permission?
The 1994 film 'Bandit Queen' was based on the life of Phoolan Devi. The film was highly appreciated by both the audience and critics. Seema Biswas was seen in the role of Phoolan Devi in this film. Apart from this, many actors including Manoj Bajpayee and Nirmal Pandey were seen in important roles in the film.
