This year, the Republic Day celebration stood apart from conventional events. Instead of inviting celebrity figures, Country Club chose to honour the true heroes of the nation—children. The national flag was hoisted in the presence of 50 government school children, along with Country Club members and residents, symbolising hope, unity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.
The gathering brought together families, members, and young minds in an atmosphere filled with pride, unity, and respect for the Constitution of India. The presence of children during the flag hoisting served as a reminder that nation building is a collective effort—one that starts at the grassroots level and grows stronger through community bonding.
The event resonated strongly with the ideals of Dr. A P J Abul Kalam Sir, India’s former President and missile man who firmly believed that education is the foundation upon which a strong nation is built. His legacy echoed through the gathering, inspiring the young students to dream fearlessly and believe in their power to shape the nation. He was a practising Muslim, but he lived and led beyond religion. He strongly believed that India’s strength lies in unity, mutual respect, and harmony among all faiths. His closest influences included the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran, and the Bible — he often quoted from all three. As President, he never allowed religion to divide public life and always upheld the secular spirit of the Indian Constitution.
