The Grammys represent the most prestigious awards across the music industry. Nominations for these prestigious awards, to be given for the 68th Grammy Awards, i.e., 2026, have been announced. The list includes nominations from Lady Gaga to a number of global artists. However, India shines among the nomination list, with many Indian and Indian-origin artists in the fray.

India has dominated the 2026 Grammy Awards. Sitar player Anoushka Shankar has been nominated, marking her 11th Grammy Award nomination. Anushka has received a Grammy Award nomination for her song "Daybreak." This is the 11th nomination in Anushka's career. The song was nominated in the Best Global Performance category.

Anushka Shankar is the daughter of legendary Indian sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar. Following in her father's footsteps, Anushka has brought glory to India worldwide. She has experimented with traditional Indian music, elevating the country's reputation globally. Anushka received her first nomination in 2003 for "Live at Carnegie Hall."

In addition to Anushka Shankar, musicians Siddhant Bhatia, Shakti, and pianist and composer Charu Suri have received Grammy Award nominations for their contributions to Indian music. Indian musicians who have made their mark in the Best Global Music Album category include Siddhant Bhatia, who received a nomination for "Sounds of Kumbh," a collaborative work inspired by the sonic landscape of the Kumbh Mela.

Indian music group Shakti: Mind Explosion (50th Anniversary Tour Live) is also in the running. Directed by John McLaughlin and the late Zakir Hussain, the album traces the jazz-fusion band's 50-year journey. Anoushka Shankar and Shakti are also nominated for Best Global Music Performance, with Anoushka's "Shankar's Daybreak" and Shakti's "Shrini's Dream (Live)." Popular Indian-American composer and pianist Charu Suri is nominated in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category for her album "Shayan," which blends jazz and Indian music. Charu Suri also served as producer for Siddhant Bhatia's album "Sounds of Kumbh," another nominee in the same category.
