Mumbai: A year after Satish Shah’s death, Sumeet Raghavan has reminded fans that the warmth of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was not confined to the script. On the veteran actor’s first death anniversary, Sumeet shared a throwback video from the sets of the cult sitcom, capturing an impromptu singing session with the man he called “kaka.”
In the clip, Sumeet is seen turning a chair into a makeshift drum while Satish happily joins in the song. Ratna Pathak Shah and Rajesh Kumar also make brief appearances, completing a frame that will feel instantly familiar to the show’s loyal viewers. Sharing the video, Sumeet wrote, “One year..can’t believe its been one year.. #sarabhaivssarabhai #indusarabhai”. A message within the video added, “Miss you kaka..miss these singing sessions.. #indusarabhai.”
The Father-Son Duo Fans Never Forgot
On screen, Sumeet played Sahil Sarabhai, the calm, sensible son caught between his snobbish mother Maya and his mischievous father Indravadan. Satish Shah’s Indu was the prankster of the house, endlessly teasing Maya and stirring up trouble for laughs. Their scenes often worked because of an easy, believable chemistry, and this video suggests that chemistry was genuine.
