Canadian drummer Joseph Seiders is arrested by police after serious allegations

Canadian indie rock group 'The New Pornographers' drummer Joseph Seiders has been arrested in California for having content (videos) related to child sexual abuse. 44-year-old Joseph Seiders is also said to have recorded minor boys with his phone at the bathroom of Chick-fil-A restaurant at Palm Desert. The event left everyone in the music industry stunned along with fans.

According to the Sheriff's Department, a complaint of suspicious activity was received at the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Palm Desert on April 7. An 11-year-old boy informed the police that a man recorded his video in the bathroom. Two days later, on April 9, another complaint was received from the restaurant, after which the police arrested Joseph Seiders.

The police searched Seiders' house, vehicle and phone, where evidence related to both incidents was found. Apart from this, material related to child sexual abuse was also found with him. Seiders has been charged with serious charges like possessing child sexual abuse material, molesting a minor and violation of privacy. His bail has been fixed at $ 1 million. He will appear in court on April 22.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department believes that there may be more victims in this case. Police have appealed to the people that if they have any information related to this case, they should contact the sheriff's office. The Riverside County Public Defender's Office has refused to comment on Joseph Seiders.

Joseph Seiders was associated with the band 'The New Pornographers' since 2014. He played drums in many of the band's albums. After this incident, the band immediately ended all relations with him. The band released a statement on Instagram saying, "Everyone in the band is completely shocked and devastated by the news of the allegations against Joe Seiders."
