'Women Need More Support After Childbirth': Kiara Advani Shares Her Experience

Actress Kiara Advani has been making headlines owing to her new film, "Toxic." Additionally, she has become a mom. However, she also shed light on the fact that when women become mothers, certain expectations are created for them. She pointed out that after pregnancy, the attention shifts elsewhere.

Speaking about the changes in her life since becoming a mother, Kiara told the Bombay Times, "This experience has been wonderful in every way. I feel that directors who work with me now will get to see the best version of me. This journey of becoming a mother has opened up a new dimension to my understanding of the world."

She said, "The most interesting thing is that when you're pregnant, everyone says, 'Wow, you're glowing, you look so beautiful.' But as soon as you give birth, the conversation changes. People say, 'You're looking fat now, you look a little this, a little that.'"

The actress said, "When you're pregnant, people worship you like a goddess, but as soon as you give birth, they expect you to immediately return to your old fitness and work. The most difficult time for women is after childbirth. This is the time when they need the most support."

Kiara said, "It's said that it takes a village to raise a child. Similarly, it takes a village to take care of a mother."

Kiara and Siddharth got married in 2023. Their daughter, Saraya, was born on July 15, 2025. Kiara's upcoming film, "Toxic," will release in theaters on June 4.
