Delhi's LG VK Saxena reached the special screening of Umrao Jaan, said - it is difficult to make it today
Umrao Jaan Special Screening: Rekha's Umrao Jaan has been in constant discussions since its re-release. Now Delhi's LG Vinay Kumar Saxena, who reached the special screening of the film in Delhi, has praised the film.

Muzaffar Ali's classic Rekha-starrer film 'Umrao Jaan' has been re-released and is continuing in theatres. The film has been appreciated by many actors, such as Alia Bhatt and Janhvi Kapoor, and all have been requested to go and watch it. Now Rekha's 'Umrao Jaan' has been praised by Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena attended the special screening of 'Umrao Jaan' in Delhi. During this, the film's director Muzaffar Ali was also present with him. During this, before watching the film, the LG said that he has seen 'Umrao Jaan' countless times due to the direction, story, songs and lyrics. While talking to ANI after the screening, LG praised 'Umrao Jaan' and called it a unique film. He said, "Umrao Jaan, made by Muzaffar Ali 44 years ago, has become such a unique film that it is very difficult to make it in today's time. This is a film in which every character has played its role. Music, songs, direction, everything in this film is unique. This is a successful film in actress Rekha's career."
Further praising the film and Rekha, the Lieutenant Governor said, "It would not be wrong to say that Rekha became Rekha from this film. I am sure that this film will prove to be a milestone in the times to come, which will always be remembered in the Mumbai film industry."
During this, director Muzaffar Ali described 'Umrao Jaan' as timeless and ageless and said that I think this film has no age, no limit. It was made for the time 150 years ago. Therefore, it was a historical film and it is made according to that era. It is as relevant today as it would have been back then. This film is full of nostalgia and hard work for me.
