Akanksha Chamola Slams Shreya Kalra Over Divorce Remarks
Lock Upp contestant Akanksha Chamola confronts Shreya Kalra for allegedly commenting on her divorce from Gaurav Khanna without knowing the facts.
Mumbai, July 31 — Actress Akanksha Chamola publicly confronted fellow Lock Upp contestant Shreya Kalra after learning that the latter had allegedly made remarks about her divorce from actor Gaurav Khanna.
During a heated exchange inside the reality show house, Chamola accused Kalra of passing judgment on a deeply personal matter without adequate knowledge of either party. She questioned why Kalra referred to Khanna with respect while allegedly portraying her in a negative light. “How much do you know Gaurav? Do you know him outside? Are you his friend? Why is he ‘Gaurav Ji’ to you? And why am I the witch?!” Chamola asked.
Chamola further alleged that she had been told Kalra remarked it was “good” the couple were divorcing because the actor “didn’t deserve that girl.” Challenging the reported comments, she said, “Who are you to say this? Do you know my relationship with him? You are speaking as his advocate! Why?!”
Kalra denied making the statements and urged Chamola not to believe everything relayed by others. She maintained that she had not intended to comment on the couple’s relationship and attempted to clarify her position.
Unwilling to drop the issue, Chamola described any commentary on a failed marriage as highly insensitive. “If I were to pass comments on your exes and you, how would that look and make you feel,” she asked. “You are playing with my emotions because my emotions are genuine,” she added.
The confrontation intensified when Chamola accused Kalra of altering her stance after another contestant joined the discussion. She also alleged that Kalra was attempting to project a favourable image before the audience despite the cameras recording every exchange.
The argument concluded with Chamola delivering a pointed remark on Kalra’s approach to the game. “I would respect you if you accept that yes, even if you have to be the vano for the game, be it! My respect for you will only increase,” she said.
The exchange highlighted the tensions that can arise when personal histories enter the competitive environment of a reality show, with Chamola insisting that uninformed judgments on private relationships cross an important boundary.
