Samay Raina Opens Up on ‘India’s Got Latent’ Row, Says He Feared Bankruptcy Like Amitabh Bachchan
Samay Raina: YouTuber and comedian Samay Raina has been in the headlines since his "Still Alive" video. Now, his comments on Amitabh Bachchan have once again sparked discussions on social media. Find out what the whole matter is.
Samay Raina uploaded a video titled “Still Alive” on YouTube, where he candidly discussed the debate surrounding India’s Got Latent. Samay Raina has been in the news lately because of that. And now, he is making another statement regarding Big B, which is trending on social media platforms.
Samay Raina explained that he lost everything due to the India's Got Latent controversy. He said, "All my upcoming episodes were put on hold because everyone was scared and no one wanted to upload their episodes."
The sponsors for those episodes also left. I had already received their payment and invested it in a fixed deposit (FD). Then I had to break that FD and return the money. I was in complete trouble.
Samay further explained that he was living in constant fear. He said, "I had several projects lined up and had even shot for ads, but they also demanded their money back. I had signed a deal with Book My Show, where they had given me an advance for the entire tour, and I had invested all that money. I was extremely scared. At that time, I didn't know what to do. I knew that no brand would partner with me. My biggest fear was that I would become completely bankrupt and drown in debt, like what happened to Amitabh Bachchan."
Last year, Samay Raina's controversial show "India's Got Latent" was embroiled in controversy due to its dark comedy and offensive and obscene jokes. In an episode of this show, Ranveer Allahbadia made a highly derogatory comment about parents.
This caused a significant uproar. Both Samay Raina and Ranveer were trolled on social media, and police FIRs were filed. Samay Raina had to delete all episodes of his show. He also apologized for the comments.
