"Don't See Kashmir Without Me": SRK's Emotional Father Story Resurfaces As King Buzz Builds

As Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan gears up for one of his most anticipated releases yet, "King," an old and deeply personal moment from his past has resurfaced online, reminding fans of the emotional weight the actor carries from his early years. A clip from his appearance on "Kaun Banega Crorepati," hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, is once again circulating widely - this time reigniting interest in a story SRK first shared over a decade ago about his long-avoided relationship with Kashmir.

The Promise His Father Never Got To Keep

In the viral segment, Khan explains to Bachchan why he stayed away from the valley for so long, despite countless opportunities to visit. "This is a very emotional story, Amit ji. My father's mother was Kashmiri. My father told me to see three places in my life, whether I live there or not. He said to see Istanbul, Italy-Rome, and Kashmir. See the other two places without me, but don't see Kashmir without me," Khan recalled. His father passed away when SRK was just 15 years old - a loss that came before that promised trip could ever happen.

Khan went on to describe just how deliberately he avoided the region afterward, despite the pull of both professional and personal invitations. "I had many opportunities, many friends invited me, and my family went on vacation. But I never went to Kashmir because my father said, 'Don't go to Kashmir without me, I'll show you,'" he said, underlining how deeply the unfulfilled promise shaped his choices for years.
