Prithviraj Sukumaran, actor, is currently making headlines through his movie "I, Nobody" released on July 9. He has recently commented on action stunts. The injuries that he suffered while performing stunts in 2023 have affected his approach to performing action scenes in the movie "I, Nobody". He said that it was not only because of the injury he received, but also due to the one he had on the set.
Prithviraj Sukumaran has talked about the incident in 2023 when he suffered an injury that affected his approach to action scenes. He disclosed that he had three titanium screws in his left leg. The injury taught him that an accident, however brief it may be, can affect not only his life but the entire film production.
The actor recently spoke to The Indian Express during the promotion of his crime thriller "I, Nobody," saying that while he's known for performing his own action scenes, he's now much more cautious about performing dangerous stunts. Speaking about the accident, he said, "I was shooting another film in 2023. I'm known for performing my own action scenes. While performing a stunt scene, I had an accident and seriously injured my left knee. I had to undergo three surgeries and now have three titanium screws in my left leg."
The actor further stated that the accident not only affected his health but also the film itself. He said, "Work on that film had to be halted for a year. A lot of money was wasted, and many people had to wait for a year, so now that responsibility is always on my mind." Prithviraj also recalled another accident that occurred during the shooting of "I, Nobody," saying it highlighted the risks involved in making an action film. According to him, a stuntman was seriously injured and required 37 stitches on the back of his neck.
The actor added, "One of our fighters got injured on set and needed 37 stitches on the back of his neck. Such things happen. That's why I'm saying, imagine if I were doing that shot and that happened to me, I would have been home for six months." Despite such a serious injury, Prithviraj said he still enjoys shooting action scenes. He credited stunt coordinator Yannick Ben and his team for designing realistic action scenes, which required a lot of hard work from the actors and made every scene look real.
